| We flew with Sky-Europe to Barcelona arriving in the late afternoon. From the airport we took the airport bus in to the central square. From there we took a taxi to our prearranged hotel Barbara (which has a really good fresh bread and cakes for breakfast served from 7am-10 am). Barbara is not in the best part of the town but is very close to the Ramblas one of our favourite parts of the town. The Ramblas runs from the port area to the Catalunya square. This photo shows one of the many pet stalls which you can find here. Note there are chickens and Ginny fouls for sale. We also saw baby hedgehogs for sale. |

We had returned to Barcelona for a few days (3 nights). Because although we came to Barcelona many times while we worked on the cruise liners, very often the ship would be in port only for a few hours. So there was never enough time for such a great destination. I have for a very long time thought that Barcelona is possibly the best kissy-kissy weekend break in Europe. So our mission this time was to photograph Sagrada Familia Cathedral. Plus also to have a good few days there. Nothing to do with the three very interesting camera stores that are in the city! One of which has an unbelievable amount of second hand professional equipment upstairs. |
